Habits are hard to shake. So whilst it’s the first day of my Easter holiday I’ve been up since before seven, mind filled with fizzing thoughts and ideas that go sparking off each other like dodgems at the fair, and the tap tap tapping and the nag nag nagging of all those indeterminate Things That Must Be Done. So what have I done in the couple hours I’ve been up and at ‘em? Taken apart and reassembled the stereo shelving system with different shelf heights so I can fit some books and DVDs on those ones that don’t hold the music hardware – and that’s now just about all of them as there’s only now an amp and a record deck (which itself pretty much only gets dragged into action when I need to do a vinyl rip). Gosh but that last sentence structure was dreadful, wasn’t it? Too much parenthesis. Or parentheses. Whatever.
Speaking of parentheses, Stephen has a new blog that replaces the old blog, and which is highly entertaining as expected. I was about to say that he has something about parentheses in this entry, but it appears to have had acid poured on it. A faint imprint remains burnt in my Google Reader, and it makes me laugh when I read it. Let’s all tell Stephen to resurrect it. I mean, it is the right time of year for that kind of thing after all.
So yes, I reconstructed my stereo shelves this morning. I also moved a printer, a scanner, some books and put a bunch of cycling magazines in some nice plastic magazine rack things, replacing the skanky old cardboard ones. I’m probably being hideously environmentally unsound in doing so, but didn’t some professor say the other day how the world is fucked anyway and it doesn't matter what we do to try and save it? I'm sure he didn't use the word 'fucked' but we all know that's what he meant. Anyway, that sounds like a good excuse. I always thought that whole ‘save the planet’ shtick was a shoddy marketing ploy anyway. Besides which, I can proudly proclaim that it Wasn’t My Fault because I’m not some irresponsible baby boomer. I’m a Gen X’er, and don’t you forget it.

it’s back x
Yay! “last night i sat under a bridge with cat whiskers drawn on my nose, burning paper logs and shouting.” is the bit that made me laugh most. And that would be laughing in delight at such a remarkable image, not laughing in a Nelson ‘ha ha’ pointing kind of way…
